FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
China's Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) Awards Zypcom Top
Union City, California, -- Zypcom, Inc. announces that several of its
V.34 (33600bps) modems were awarded the top rating by China's Ministry of
Posts and Telecommunications. The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications
which is now called the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) conducted an
exhaustive analysis of analog modems from over 40 manufacturers world wide
for certification and recommendation on China's Public Data Communication
Network. The Ministry then publishes the results of the study for
distribution to all Postal Management buying offices in each province,
district and city.
The Ministry rated Zypcom's modems Z34-SX and Z34-RX number one in their
networked managed category. Also the Zypcom V.90/V.34 standalone modem
Z34-SC was rated number one in the non-network managed category.
"We are very excited and proud that our V.34 modems have been
acknowledged by the MPT's tests, to show superior throughput,
signal-to-noise performance and features" said Karl Zorzi, President of
Zypcom. "You know your efforts to provide high performance modems for
industrial modem users are paying off when you out perform competitors like
Hayes, 3-Com/USR, Paradyne, Motorola and Multi-Tech."

modem that is the complete communications solution. In addition to the new
ITU-T V.90 standard for 56000bps* operation and the older USRx2 56000bps
operation, the Z34-SC offers compatibility with all applicable ITU-T and
Bell lower speed standards for data transmission, including V.34bis,
V.34, V.32bis, V.32, V.22bis, V.23, V.22, V.21, 212A and 103.
