Zypcom's SI-Series
of modems are designed for industrial data communication applications that
go beyond PC connectivity. Zypcom modems are proven leaders in data
throughput—even on impaired telephone lines. Network World said "the
best overall performer" of high-speed modems. Data Communications
bestowed their "Top Performer" award. Byte said "sends and
receives data faster than any modem." Zypcom's Z90-SI modem
incorporates V.90 technology for line speeds up to 56Kbps. The Z32b-SI modem incorporates
V.32bis technology for 14.4Kbps line speeds.
AC or DC Powered
The SI-Series
can be powered from a standard 110VAC outlet using the adapter included
with the modem. The modem also
incorporates a three-screw terminal block that can be directly wired to an
external DC power source. This
allows the modem to use 12VDC, 24VDC, or 48VDC power in applications where
AC power is unavailable. Now 12VDC data collection, alarm system, and SCADA
systems can use the same modem as 24VDC control networks, or 48VDC telecom
applications. The voltage selection
is automatic and overall consumption is less than two watts.
Versatile and
Rugged
The modem’s small
footprint (2.0” x 4.6”) and industrial design allow the unit to be easily
mounted in a control cabinet or attached to a standard 35mm DIN rail. Screw mounting holes and DIN rail clip
are an integral part of the design.
The four-position front panel DIP-switch allows the user to select
an entire configuration profile, matching most typical PLC or SCADA applications,
by setting a single switch. Built-in
management allows the modem to be completely optioned and configured from a
remote location, greatly simplifying field installation and
maintenance. For over ten years,
Zypcom modems have been the choice of leading automation vendors wanting to
provide the best remote access solution available for mission critical
applications.
Price/Performance
With its
ease-of-use, compatibility, security options, manageability, versatility
and the highest full-duplex data throughput of any modem today, the SI-Series
offers the data communications professional the best price/performance
ratio available. Network World said "Zypcom provides the biggest bang
for the buck."
